Mark Witteveen

Mark Witteveen moved to Alaska at a very young age and grew up commercial salmon and halibut fishing in Kodiak. After receiving his Bachelor and Master of Fisheries degrees at the University of Washington, Mark has worked as a management and research biologist for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Mark also constructed his own home and currently lives there with his wife, Bree, a whale research biologist.

Brian Adams

Brian Adams is an up-and-coming Inupiaq photographer from the northwest village of Kivalina, Alaska. Brian quickly became involved with photography in school and shot for local companies. After assisting a well-known Anchorage photographer for two years, Clark James Mishler, he began freelancing and joined Getty Images in 2006. Brian specializes in environmental portraiture. He offers both large format film and digital capture.

Gary Knagin

Alutiiq artist, Gary Knagin was born in Kodiak in 1957. His parents, Dennis & Julie are both ½ Alutiiq and grew up in Afognak and Karluk, respectively. The young family resided in Afognak the year Gary was born, but moved to Kodiak when he was two years old.

Helen Simeonoff

Helen J. Simeonoff is Sugpiaq (Alutiiq) of Kodiak, Alaska; her parents were William Simeonoff, Jr. of Kodiak and Alexandra Knagin (Knagg) of Afognak. Helen studied art in San Diego; attended a watercolor workshop held by Tom Lynch and college watercolor class in Adak, Alaska.

Sarah Laws

Sarah Laws is an artist/designer currently living in the small New England coast town of Winthrop Massachusetts, just 10 minutes out of Boston. She grew up in Portland Oregon and Palm Springs California, and recently lived in New York City. She received her Bachelors of Art in Sculpture from Portland State University and she studied Accessory design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

Robin Brown

Robin Brown grew up in Kodiak, Alaska. She moved to Maui, Hawaii when she was nineteen years old and fell in love with the island. Her spare time is filled with painting, jewelry making, surfing, and flying airplanes. The nature that surrounds Robin is where most of her inspiration comes from; along with life experiences, and traveling to new places. Enjoying the simple pleasures in life, and the culture of Hawaii, is how she tries to live, which is reflected in her art.
